Hilco Valuation Services is seeking a business development officer to join its team in New York to market and sell
valuation services to the lending, private equity, corporate and advisory community in the Northeast region of the
US. The successful candidate will be a consummate and credible sales professional capable of selling all of Hilco
Valuation Services as well as cross selling the entire Hilco Global platform, including monetization and advisory
services.
Desired Skills & Experience
Candidate will have a minimum of 7 years of experience in consultative sales with a demonstrated track record of
developing new markets and growing an existing territory, and must be able to explain the techniques utilized to
accomplish this success. Internal candidates with significant appraisal or other professional services experiences
with a high-level of successful client contact and project execution experience will be considered. The ideal
candidate will have a strong commitment to customer service and embrace a "customer first" philosophy.
Candidate must have excellent presentation skills with the ability to persuade key decision makers; must possess
critical listening skills and have the ability to identify all stakeholder needs and reach mutually rewarding
solutions. Must have project leadership skills and the ability to execute plans and complete project. Solid
interpersonal and proven written and verbal communication skills are crucial in this role. Candidate will be
organized, self-motivated and possess a sense of urgency, drive and ambition in achieving both personal and team
goals.
Relationship manager will be able to work independently and autonomously, but also be a demonstrated team player that
is comfortable participating and contributing in a team environment. As a Hilco representative, candidate will never
compromise on integrity and must understand the importance of fair dealing, personal responsibility and client
loyalty.
Primary Responsibilities & Focus
- Apply the following business development tools: cold calling; networking; relationship building; participating
in industry associations; attending trade shows
- Create an annual strategic and tactical plan to identify, increase and close new business and aggressively grow
revenue
- Outline quarterly sales plans defining the approach to meet all targets
- Develop effective sales presentations that are continually tested and used in the field
- Develop implementation strategies for new products and services
- Pro-actively hunt for target prospects and establish communications with those organizations that can benefit
from Hilco Global’s services
- Develop multi-tier relationships to organically grow the clients’ accounts
- Build referral and lead generation network
- Develop, maintain and manage client communication with internal tools such as the corporate website, email,
promotional marketing materials, presentations, proprietary CRM, etc.
- Actively and successfully manage the sales process through lead generation; credentials pitch; asking questions;
solution pitch; negotiation; close; handover to the operations team; etc.
- Assure all existing customers are contacted regularly to maintain high customer satisfaction and develop
need-based marketing relations
- Keep abreast of issues affecting our industry; continuously collect and disseminate market intelligence
